Union Springs Independent Baptist Church is located 14 miles north of Nacogdoches on U.S. Highway 259
near County Road 915, the Old Henderson Road. The Church and a few homes are all that remain of
Union Springs, a community that was established after the Civil War.1 Union Springs Cemetery,
with around 150 burial sites, is next to the church.
